Mr. Edward "Vince" Hammond, 68, of County Highway 126, Perth, New York passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at his residence with his loving family at his side.

He was born September 26, 1943 in Ballston Spa, New York a son of the late Elizabeth Ellen Mc Namee and attended local schools. He moved to Perth, New York in 1973 and resided there since that time.

Mr. Hammond was employed in the Large Steam-Generator Department by the General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York for over 35 years before retiring.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He was married to Carolyn Kolacki Hammond on September 17, 1966 who survives. He is also survived by his daughters Yvonne (Christopher) Billings, Cohoes, New York and Daneen Ginnow, Schenectady, New York; grandchildren Michael Hammond, Morgan Trembley, Samantha Billings, Sadira Ginnow and Dean "Tater" Ginnow; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Ellen Mc Namee and by his brother Daniel Hammond.

The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, New York with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, Ny 12078.
