Mrs. Bernice A. Wojcik, 89, of Lodge Street, Amsterdam, New York passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York.
She was born July 7, 1923 in Amsterdam, New York a daughter of the late Andrew and Magdalena Furmann Szala. She was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Wojcik was a Homemaker.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.
She was married to Leonard A. Wojcik on June 13, 1948. He died October 6, 1981. She was also predeceased by her daughter Diane Wojcik in 2002; by her sisters Josephine Orchowski and Caroline Masterson and by her infant brother, William Szala.
She is survived by her sons William J. Wojcik, Richmond, Virginia and Gary R. Wojcik (Blanca), Clifton Park, New York; grandchildren Kevin Wojcik, Portland, Oregon, Kimberly Kite-Powell (Aaron), Boston, Massachusetts, Tiffany Campana (Jerry), Schenectady, New York and Nikolas Wojcik, (Brooke), Scotia, New York; great grandchildren Cole and Sven; her sister Helen Starzyk, Springfield, Massachusetts; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, New York followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a calling period beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 46 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, New York 12010.
