Mrs. Josephine Frances (Watras) Komazenski of Second Street, Amsterdam, New York passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Mary's Healthcare with her family at her side. She was born July 8, 1931 in Amsterdam, New York the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Barczak) Watras. She was educated at local schools and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School - Class of 1948.

For many years she worked for Sunflo (Ordyk) Paint Company, later known as Passano Paint Company until retiring. She also worked for Mohasco Industries, Dick's Market, Coleco Industries and Amsterdam Glove Company. She was a Homemaker after retiring. Josephine was a devout Catholic and a strong supporter of her beloved St. Stanislaus Church and was a member of its Ladies Rosary Society. She enjoyed making pierogi at the church; she was an avid bowler and treasurer of two leagues. She liked to play cards, bingo and enjoyed Polka dancing.

Josephine was married to John Komazenski on June 18, 1949. He died July 7, 1995. She was predeceased by her parents, her infant son, John Joseph, a sister Frances, two brothers Steve and Albin Watras.

She is survived by her children, James (Laurel) Komazenski of Rotterdam, New York and Joanne (Kevin) Mc Namara, Amsterdam, New York; her five grandchildren Michael (Renee) Komazenski, Jason (Meaghan Corkery), and Kristen Komazenski, Daniel J. and Kathleen Mc Namara,: two great grandchildren Michael James, Jr. and Matthew David Komazenski; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Church in Amsterdam at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 with Rev. O. Robert De Martinis as principal celebrant. Calling hours will be held at the church from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and will precede the funeral mass at the church. The Rosary Society service will be at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church Renovation Fund, 46 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, New York 12010.
