Mr. Edward G. Myslowski, 81, of Locust Avenue, Amsterdam, New York passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 11, 2012 with his loving family at his side.
He was born December 14, 1930 in Amsterdam, New York a son of thge late George and Agnes Pozniak Myslowski. He received his education at St. Stanislaus School and the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Myslowski served in the Army from 1951 through 1953 as a Corporal stationed in France during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed by the General Electric Company and Niagara Mohawk Company. For 37 years, he was a Meat Cutter at the Grand Union Company before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Polish-American Veterans.
Ed was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed watching the Amsterdam Rams play basketball and football.
He is survived by his wife Ann (Cosentino) Myslowski to whom he married October 18, 1954; his daughters Diane Myslowski, Amsterdam and Sharon Podolec and her husband, Kenneth, Amsterdam; his granddaughter Janell (Ryan) Albers, Florida; his sister Florence Zalinski;brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street with Rev. Lawrence J. Decker, Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny Corners Road, Amsterdam, New York 12010.
